The Calcaneial Minifixator™ is a specific model of the Mini Rail system designed to accomplish the three goals of treating calcaneal fractures: Restoring heel height, Reducing heel width in order to decompress the peroneal tendons, and accurately reducing the articular surfaces.

The real value of external fixation in treating calcaneal fractures is that it allows the surgeon to accomplish all these goals without compromising the soft tissue envelope.
